In an ideal world, we don’t print things. We only review data online. While that’s a nice idea, and in some cases I agree, there are instances when the need to print exists. If you ever want to print out a Survey Response from Forms Pro, there is no easy way to do this. You could create a Word Document Template, but anyone who has done this in the past knows the frustration of not being able to sort the records being returned in the document. The questions on your surveys have a logical order which is then captured on the question records with a Sequence field (which you can see in the view below). One way we CAN sort in this order is by creating an SSRS report which you can then access directly from a Survey Response record.

In this post I am NOT going to show you how to create a report. If you want to get some AWESOME advice you can check out this post from fellow MVP and all round fantastic guy, Nick Doelman. If you also need some assistance with Visual Studio shenanigans, this is one of my most read blog posts for a reason! Instead this blog post is providing you with a FREE report (actually, two – read till the end!) that you can add to your own environment. If you know how to edit SSRS reports that’s awesome, you can either create your own, or use mine as a starting point. If not, I have made it clean and simple enough to hopefully make it something people will use. It can be used in Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement environment, or in a ‘naked’ CDS environment. First things, click here to request the solution file. Next, go to make.powerapps.com and then navigate to the environment you want to add it to, then Solutions. Click on the Import button from the top menu.

Browse out for the solution you received after requesting it (it will be sent to you via email). Then click the next button.

The next screen will show you the name of the solution and the publisher (that’s me! 🙂 ). Click the Import button.

It should import without any issues and show that it has completed successfully. You can then close the window.

Now navigate to one of your Survey Response records. Click on the Run Report option (this might be hidden in the ellipsis ) and then select the Individual Survey Response report that you imported as part of the solution file.

The report will then open in a new tab. You can then print directly from the report, of click on the export option and select the PDF option from the list. Although you can download as other file formats, the report was set up to be formatted for PDF.

You can then open up the report to review it, save or do whatever you like with it! 🙂 So what do you think? Would you use this? Will you add it to your own list of reports?

⭐ I’ve also added in a bonus report for you. ⭐ This one is the Survey Responses report and can be run directly from a survey record. This will give you a list of all of the responses (with the questions and answers) that have been received for that specific survey.

*** PLEASE NOTE ***

The solution is provided AS IS, meaning I won’t be making any changes to it. It is free, which means there is no consulting provided with it to make changes to the report or assist with importing the solution file. The versions available to download does not include the logo pictured in this post or the video below.

If you request the reports you are agreeing to and acknowledging these terms. Click here to request to solution file
